PASTRY SHOP

The history of the Nannini brand has been linked to Siena for over a hundred years. It is among the historic buildings of the city of the Palio that the elegant cafés are born.  The typical sweets of Sienese tradition spread beyond the city walls to become popular abroad. It all began in the early 20th century, when Guido Nannini opened the "Bar Ideale" in the city's historic center. In 1930, he obtained a license as a "liquor and pastry factory," which launched the confectionery business that would make the Nannini brand famous worldwide. During this period, the "Conca d'Oro," the bar that had been a favorite with entire generations of Sienese, moved to the heart of the city, now Via Banchi di Sopra, a stone's throw from Piazza del Campo. Within a few years, Nannini's logos found their way into other city squares with the opening of new outlets, and in 1948, production of panforte, ricciarelli, and other typical Sienese sweets began. Over the years, Guido's leadership was passed to Danilo Nannini. Today, Alessandro Nannini continues the family tradition. A decades-long history rooted in the ability to innovate while remaining firmly rooted in tradition: values that today, after more than a century, continue to distinguish the family brand.
